Collagen is good for everything, literally everything.
Collagen is the most abundant protein source in your body. It’s found in muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, digestive system and tendons. It’s what helps give our skin strength and elasticity, along with replacing dead skin cells. Simply put, it holds our bodies together. Naturally as we age, collagen levels decrease, causing skin to sag and wrinkle and internally, joints to become stiff and weaker.
There are technically 3 types of Collagen
Type 1 Being the most abundant, is made of eosinophilic fibers and it helps create that elasticity of skin and hold tissues together of the organs and ligaments.
Type 2 Helps with more joint and cartilage, usually aiding in the delay or prevention of arthritis.
Type 3 Is made of reticular fibers and a major factor of the extracellular structure that makes up our organs and skin. It’s usually found with type 1 and helps give skin its firmness. It also forms blood vessels and tissue within the heart. For these reasons, deficiency in type 3 collagen has been linked to a higher risk for ruptured blood vessels and even early death, according to results from certain animal studies. As good as it is for skin it's also crucial internally.
So now you know it helps with
